LONDON- JUST WEEKS AFTER THE LAST MAJOR RIOT
ANOTHER PROTEST TURNED VIOLENT OCCURRED YESTERDAY IN
THE WIZARDING ENCLAVE KNOWN AS WIZARDING HACKNEY.
THIRTEEN WERE INJURED BUT THERE ARE NO REPORTED DEATHS.
AS FAR AS THE MINISTRY INVESTIGATORS CAN GATHER THE RIOT
WAS NOT AN ORGANIZED ONE, AND THE MAN WHO IS SUSPECTED
OF INSTIGATING THE RIOT IS IN CUSTODY ON VARIOUS CHARGES,
BUT HAS NOT BEEN CONVICTED. THE MAN, WHOSE NAME WAS
ASKED NOT TO BE GIVEN TO THE PUBLIC AT THIS TIME, WAS
REPORTED BY EYE-WITNESSES, TO BE INTOXICATED AT THE TIME.
THIS RECENT ACCOUNT IS JUST ANOTHER TO ADD TO THE
EVER-COUNTING NUMBER OF ACTS OF VIOLENCE OCCURRING
WITHIN HACKNEY'S B BOARDERS. SINCE IT'S APPROVAL IN
FEBRUARY OF LAST YEAR, THERE HAS BEEN A RAPIDLY
INCREASING RATE OF CRIME, WITH NEARLY 60 REPORTS OF
VIOLENT CRIME PER THOUSAND PEOPLE IN 2027-- A SHOCKING
STATISTIC WHEN COMPARED TO THE ENGLISH AVERAGE OF 15
OFFENSES PER THOUSAND PEOPLE IN THE SAME YEAR.
THE PRESS SECRETARY FROM THE OFFICE OF THE MINISTER OF
MAGIC SUBMITTED A STATEMENT THIS MORNING ASSURING THE
PUBLIC OF CONTINUED EFFORTS TO STOP CRIME IN THE HACKNEY
AREA AND PROMISED TO STRENGTHEN NOT ONLY THE LAWS BUT
ALSO THE PUNISHMENTS FOR THOSE WHO CONTINUE TO DEFY THE
LAW AND PUT THE PUBLIC IN DANGER. THE WIZENGAMOT IS
CURRENTLY IN THE PROCESS OF WRITING A LAW THAT COULD,
POTENTIALLY, DO BOTH OF THOSE THINGS. SOME OF THE MAJOR
COMPONENTS OF THE BILL INCLUDE TOUGHER RESPONSES TO
THOSE CAUGHT OUT PAST CURFEW WITHOUT PROPER
DOCUMENTATION AND THE POTENTIAL CLOSING OF NOTABLE
MEETING PLACES IN THE AREA, SUCH AS THE RED LION PUB...

In the early months of the year 2026, the wizarding world was shaken by the sudden deaths of two well-known figures-- Minister of Magic Kingsley Shaklebolt and Head Auror Harry Potter. In the wake of their deaths Solinus Lestrange, Shaklebolt's undersecretary, became the youngest minister to ever be chosen, with his cousin, Judas Lestrange, appointed as the new undersecretary. Unknown to Solinus was the fact that the deaths of both Shaklebolt and Potter were not coincidental and were carried out by Judas Lestrange's orders by the twin children of the infamous Fenrir Greyback.
Getting rid of Shaklebolt and Potter was only the first, step however. He proceeded to collect followers-- dubbed "The Revolution", characterized by their youth, wealth, and overwhelming hatred for the changes the Shaklebolt/Potter era had ushered in.
Unbeknown to Solinus, Judas kept another secret from his cousin-- the truth about Solinus's parentage. Solinus was not, as was believed, the son of Rodolphous and Bellatrix Lestrange. He was the son of Lord Voldemort, the new Heir of Slytherin. For eleven years Judas had kept this secret from Solinus, watching in dismay has Solinus betrayed the very blood in his veins by befriending the likes of Theodore Lupin and his family of blood traitors. But once Solinus knew who his father was, he would have no choice but to accept his destiny and become the leader of the Second Insurgence.
And that's exactly what happened.
Solinus has been the Minister of Magic for two years now, and through his reign a series of anti-mudblood legislation has been hurried through the Ministry and put into affect. It started with the mandatory census which required all citizens to report to the Ministry what their blood status was and has most recently taken the form of forced movement to a ghetto known as "Wizarding Hackney", whose citizens are kept under close guard, and with good reason because it is here that opposition is forming.
Countering the Revolution is the Resistance. Led by Theodore Lupin, they have been biding their time and gaining support for months and waiting till they have enough power to confront the tyranny of the Ministry. Until that day comes, however, they will have to be content with frenzied meetings in the back of the Red Lion Pub and secrets whispered under the unfaltering gaze of the Ministry of Magic. The outlook is not an optimistic one.
