If you have a character that is half vampire/half human who can they have kids with? Only other half vamps? Or can they have kids with vamps, humans or even shifters? Or are they sterile? The smell of a shifter doesn't bother the halves as much right?

They can mate with humans, vamps, or half vamps. They can not mate with shifters or COTM. And no, the smell wouldn't bother halves as much, but they would still be a bit turned off... although it's not to the point where they get a headache from it. Their babies would likely be human... although they could be sterile.

hmm ok. Isn't Nessie considered a half? won't she eventually want to mate with jacob - a shifter? Maybe I'm missing something in my logic.. hmmm

yeah, but im pretty sure as the site (rules) are concerned... no halves (other than canon) may have the plot line of mating with a shifter. i could be wrong though.

The answer for our site is they would be sterile. The vampire venom mixed with the shifter gene would clash thus causing a miscarriage. Not even Nessie and Jake can have babies. The smell doesnt bother them at all Nessie even quotes in the book that she thinks Jakey smells nice....but babies arent possable sorry...

Hmm I have a question about this. Isn't the point of imprinting to create a strong child shifter? I believe Billy black said that in one of the books so would Jake have imprinted on Nessie if he would never be able to carry on his black line?

That is one point, but also in the book Leah Clearwater states that because she is a shifter she cannot bear children. Billy Black's explanation was merely a theory. Imprinting may be used as a method of whatever person would make the pack stronger. Perhaps even the fact that the pack lies outside of Fate's domain (hence why Alice can't see their future), Fate picks their mate for whatever reason fate chooses, sometimes they have them chosen simply to fall so that the task would be done by an enraged wolf. Just a thought.

But Edward does have a point in saying that the imprinting theory about having a stronger bloodlines is just that a theory. The other theory is that is will make the shifter stronger and on our site hybrids and shifters may not have children that is just the rules. There would be nothing that they could become but a horrible nuisance to the staff as people argued that they should have half shifter half vampire babies and other nonsense. I think vampire venom and the shifter gene personally would attack eachother in the womb causing a miscarriage and that is how it is on The Disorientated. I appreciate the imput but this is not a topic up for discussion rules are rules.
