••a new opportunity••
As far back as 1900 BC, the origins of fertility doctors stretch back. There are even signs that the ancient Egyptians treated infertility as a disease. The first of the doctors were considerably mystic and often relied on magic and herbs to design a treatment for this great plague. These ‘witch’ doctors often relied on the spirit and the gods to grant passage of child from their waiting place in the sky to their mother’s womb. The processes included the mashing of herbs and bone marrows of deceased animals to make powders for the drinks that mothers would digest in hope that their children would be born healthy. Even as time went on, these ideas were still acceptable. Many thought that these witch doctors would indeed cure their fertility problems and occasionally it worked but most of the time; medicine was too primitive to pinpoint the cure to infertility. Some methods seemed insane by today’s standards and others are mild; but most agree that the methods were ineffective when it came to solving the greater problem of fertility, even in the modern society the problem is not completely solved. Many must accept the crushing fact that the possibility of children is slim to none; and in this society, vampire women have no hope—or do they?
In 1894 BC, a woman was born to a family in what was Persiaand they knew she was destined for great things when she was born under a harvest moon. Her parents claimed that the spirits had claimed the child before she was ready for the world and gave her a great gift. This gift was that of great spiritual power and the woman could almost talk directly to the gods. The gods had gifted her, the supreme power of granting fertility. It was said that her village loved her for the longest time but as her years went on, her demand was higher. However a group of cold skinned individuals came and in a rage for their own infertility; they attacked the woman. Her village’s soldiers fought them off but it was too late. She was taken up the mountain an there, she remained. The woman became a vegetarian vampire, and before she knew it she came across a young man who could change into an animal. His smell was awful but she seemed to find something about him that she liked. The shifter had been bleeding and she took him in, she nursed him back to health and collected his blood. She did not know why, but when she touched the blood it would glow much like the concoctions she used to make for the fertility of the women in her village. It was then that a pair of mate vampires came to her and demanded she lead them to food. It was unknown to her when she gave them the shifter blood what would happen to the female but she returned only a month or so later showing that she was expecting. The woman sobbed and threw her arms around the old vampire; thus the legend began.
The mysterious old vampire’s name was Zaramama; she still resides in what was Persia, in hills in between Israel and Jordan. She lives deep within a cave and only has the word of mouth spread the knowledge of her. Most believe that Zaramama is a myth and that the possibility of fertility for vampires is a lie….
But it no longer is.
Hey TD and Merry Christmas from the staff. Do you have a vampire that wants children? Guess what? The Staff talked about how it would be possible for children to be born of vampiric origin. The general consensus was that there had to be a significant reason behind the reproductive abilities of a vampire instead of just bam there is a baby, there has to be a reason that the considerably dead body can shift around enough to be able to conceive and birth children.
So our god of fertility, Zaramara was created.
Zaramara has the power of granting fertility to vampires... however there is a large catch.
Zaramara is a sadistic old woman now; she does not grant fertility to everyone. She is hidden and every time she is found, she moves once more to a new cave (therefore, all of the individuals on this site that go on a journey to find her, will have to go on an individual quest instead of relying on an old friend's experience).
••the rules••
- The blood of a shifter—a pint to be exact—is required to be able to get a vampire baby, which will actually be born a vampire but grow as a half vampire would until it is at the age of maturity (late teens or early twenties). There is a bigger catch about the shifter blood; when your vampire goes to get the blood; THE SHIFTER MUST REMAIN ALIVE AFTER THE BLOOD IS EXTRACTED. If the shifter is killed in the battle, the blood is worthless. Be careful what shifter you use as well, as the shifter involved will no longer give off the stench of animal to your vampire, and the vampires involved (mother, father, and children) will not stink to the shape-shifter and those who share blood with a shape-shifter (biological family NOT pack).
- The shifter must have been on the site for at least a month for this to be applicable. No new shifters, and obviously it cannot be YOUR shifter or an NPC. You must plot with someone else to achieve a child.
- The vampires must have been on the site for at least a month; that means BOTH parents. Don’t try to avoid this rule. We will know
- YOU CANNOT SKIP A STEP. The journey may be done in Journal posts, but the other steps must be done in post. Please contact an admin if you require access to Zaramama. She will then think of a personal challenge for the character; it will not be the same each time. So don’t look at previous challenges. There may be opportunities later to bypass some steps, but that’s not for me to disclose.
- The vampire can only go to Zaramama ONCE after that, her powers will not work for them.
- The woman MUST drink all of the blood. Then there will be a two day window for the parents to uh—well you all know and if you don’t just know fade to black. This window is in game, the out of game is a week. If you can’t make it happen, please talk to a staff member about it.
- Make sure to fill out the application completely. This includes links to thread or else you will be ignored
