WEDNESDAY 12/22 - Elementary school staff party
THURSDAY 12/23 - Friends Christmas party
FRIDAY 12/24 -
SATURDAY 12/25 - Christmas with close friends
MONSAY 12/27 - Big seminar I have to present and enkai -drinking party that night.
I also have another party to fit in one of those nights, hopefully I dont have any clashes.
Basically if you hadnt figured from this, Japan is one for parties, this time of year, we celebrate christmas and the end of the year with work parties as well as christmas parties and sometimes they are combined. The thing is with Japanese parties, there is always the first party, then after that some people go home and then you have the 2nd party, then more go home and sometimes you have a third party. The last two nights I had to go out and do the exact same thing. I was supposed to be out tonight, but I also have school to consider so I had to make an adult decision and take the night off. Not to mention with all these parties, comes school during the days and you are EXPECTED to show up. Now sick days for hangovers here my friends.
Another thing here with enkais- drinking parties, you pay about 30 -40 dollars and its all you can eat, all you can drink. Japanese culture also stipulates that if a man (or womans in this case) cup is empty, an other must do the honor of pouring them another drink. Even if a sip is taken out of the glass, they will come and fill it for you. Its an honor and a privilledge to do such a thing for another of your fellow workmates and friends. Needless to say, if you havent already gathered from the last two nights of cbox chats I have contributed - I end up getting very wasted and stumbling home, simply because I cant monitor the amount of alcohol I am consuming.
So at the end of this japanese culture lesson, I just wanted to tell you that Delly is very very very busy, very very very intoxicated but having a blast. She is having trouble getting online to do things and when she does, all she wants to do is sleep. Hopefully after the 27th though, things will quieten down and I can get back into be mature and running this place. But for now, please dont hold you breath waiting for poosts, Im finding it hard to get anytime to do those.
Hanako is my first priotity (because I actually owe posts to people)and then Delta and Charlie and then after that Audrey, so please, hang in there, I will get to you, it just might take some time if you want a coherant post! Thanks guys, enjoy your christmas!
