~ about me :
Charlie is a very independent girl. Being push out onto the outer of her village as a child, she learned to adapt and survive alone with very little friends. The friends she did have were boys. Growing up and being taught the way of a boy, Charlie found herself being interested in more male interests. She loves nothing more than to fix cars and get covered in grease. She is strong minded and down to earth. She is very knowledgeable and strategic in her kills. She is a smaller animal in her shifted form, but still powerful enough as the polar bear her ancestors established. Most animal shifters are larger than their real life counterparts, Charlie is average normal female polar size. She loves the warm weather that Cleveland sometimes delivers. On those days, she loves nothing more than to bask in the sun and swim in the pools. The cold weather reminds her too much of home and the isolation she encountered. Charlie usually hangs around male company and is often respected as one of the guys. She loves to play sports but also enjoys the time with the girls. To put her personality to a point, she is honest, down to earth, independent, centered and loyal.

~ history :
Charlie was not wanted in this world from the day she was born. Folklore stated that Charlie must be a boy. The first born of an alpha always was a boy. It is that child’s responsibility to ensure the continuation of the pack. The pack of white bears created for one sole purpose, to protect the tribe. He would take charge and lead. It was bread into him; there was no denying the force that was inherited. There was no denying the natural pull an alpha felt to lead their pack. This included Charlie. The name was picked before the birth, the child’s destiny already laid out before it was able to comprehend. Charlie was, as written in the histories, a boy, fate on the other hand, had another idea. ...
Fate had it that the chiefs first born would be female and so Charlie Mae Elliot was brought into this world, unwanted, unloved, forgotten. The townspeople were excited, they waited with trepid anticipation for the birth, they had already prepared for celebrations that was until they found out Charlie was in fact a she. The tribe least to say was completely shocked. They instantly questioned the chiefs authenticity. How could an alpha of pure blood, break the confines of tradition. Her mother was accused of sleeping with other men in the town. Something had to explain how this abomination had happened, how this mistake had occurred. And thats just how Charlie grew up thinking of herself, a mistake.
As a young child, Charlie grew up under her father’s wing. She may not have been the boy the town so hopelessly craved, but her father still treated her as one. He had something to prove. He taught her as any father would teach their son. They were lose and Charlie grew to become more like a boy. She would rather play with toy trucks than dolls. She would rather play football with the boys than go shopping with the girls. Above all of this Charlie had a solid interest in mechanics, working on cars and fixing parts. Her father taught her everything he knew and from their she self taught herself the tricks of the trade. She loved nothing more than rolling around in the grease pits under cars. Her mother however, still wanted Charlie to be that beautiful blonde haired girl on the outside and to combat her fathers dominance, her mother took her on constant shopping trips. It was odd for Charlie, confusing almost. She loved to be covered in oil but standing in front of a crystal mirror, twirling in a beautiful dress also excited her. She loved shopping and spending some alone time with her mother.
At age 10 her mother received the worst news the alphas wife could ever receive. She was unable to produce any more children. This of course upset the tribe but none more than her mother. Charlie remembered how her mother spent days locked in her room crying and throwing things, frustrated and annoyed that she had let down the tribe. Nobody felt worse than her mother. Charlie liked to think that way anyway. To her though, she felt now more than ever, she was a waste of air. If she had just been a boy, she would have been town royalty. Everything would have been in place, why did she have to be the one to ruin everyone’s dreams? With no male to take over the leadership of the pack, their only hope was in Charlie. It was at this time her father explained their heritage, what he was and why Charlie was no different, why she was ignored and rejected in society by the elders. The elders of the tribe however had decided that they needed to find another male to take her place as alpha. At age ten, how does one deal with such a thing. Her life was out of her hands and spiralling out of control before she had even lived it. No one considered giving her a chance. No one, but her father.
It was stupid for him to think that she could ever be in control of a group of wild polar bears. She was just a human. Female descendants of the polar shifters never contracted the gene. It was assumed and expected that she would follow suit. It was decided however a few short days later, that the alpha position would be handed down to the beta’s son when he came to shift. The blood line of the alpha bear would cease at her father.
Charlie’s father however, still felt he had something to prove to the pack and the town. He wanted to show them that Charlie, although female and not being a shifter was still capable of leading the pack. He never had any intention of allowing her to fight or put herself in danger, her father still taught her everything she needed to know about their world. He taught her combat, hunting and most importantly killing the undesirables. He even allowed her to observe his shifting process. He went into details of his own physical changes and how it felt when such changes occurred. She was probably the most knowledgeable girl when it came to shifters. Without a son and a strong hold on the future alpha, he hoped that all his hard work would eventually prevail. If she couldn’t be alpha, he at least thought she would be prepared enough to cope with being an imprint for the future alpha or one of the other pack members.
All the information he divulged to her came easily. She didn’t really have to think about it. She felt as if she knew it all already, she just hadn’t discovered it. It was all instinctual, nothing was a shock. That was, until the stories and recounts become real. Charlie was 20 years old and was just about to move on in life. No one in the pack had taken an interest in her and she was getting older. It was time to move on and find a new home. Her plans were halted one night when she sat playing with the tools in her shed. She toyed with the spanner and rattled a few bolts. She was sick of being labelled as the one that ruined the blood lines, she was sick of being ignored and forgotten. She was sick of being the cause of her family surrendering the folklore, traditions and alphaship. Yes she was all those things, but she was also a person. She had feelings just like the rest of the town. The smell of oil always relaxed her, however while the tool still twirled in her hand, it flew out quickly and ploughed through the nearby wall. She couldn’t believe it, yes she had been stronger than most girls, growing up arm wrestling and playing football, but she had never been able to do such a thing before and so innocently as well. Within a second, Charlie found herself rolling on the floor, an intense fever overwhelming her body, shaking in pain.
She was able to regain her strength and pull herself back up to her bedroom where she ran a cold shower, but the temperature did not falter. It was then the realization and the disbelief set in. It was exactly how her father had described it, exactly as he had experience. She couldn’t believe it, after all this time, she was going to be accepted. She waited in bed until her father grew suspicious and came to check on her. When he heard her speculations he laughed in disbelief and told her she was dreaming. Behind closed doors however, he knew the truth, he knew that his daughter, was becoming one of them. She would be the first of their kind, a spectacle of the polar shifters. She would finally be accepted and welcomed into the pack with open arms. He was happy, comforted that all his hard work and training would finally pay off and prove her to be the best bear for the alpha position.
As a bear, she was smaller than the others. Being female, she wasn’t as strong either. She had strategy on her side though. She knew how to work a kill so that it resulted and success. It never worried her though, that she would never physically live up to her male friends and pack mates. She had courage, independence and strategy, everything those muscle heads were missing. The elders however, had other plans. Overriding her father as alpha, the elders saw it pointless allowing a female into the pack, let alone govern the pack as its alpha. The position was just too important to leave to the hands of a woman. They had a number of excuses, but the main one always remained, she was female.
Repulsed, Charlie said goodbye to her family and left the cold behind her. She left the village and their sexist nature. She left in hopes of finding somewhere a little more understanding, open minded, a place where she would belong. The alpha instinct still flowing through her veins, Charlie found herself fighting the urge in order to push on in her life. Her pack didn’t want her and so, she would renounce her alpha ways and become a lonely bear wandering and searching. Finally she found the sleepy city of Cleveland and took up a mechanics position there. She was happy, that she could finally do something she enjoyed doing, without being judged. The most important thing, Cleveland ran with vampires. The scent lingered strong around every corner and it heightened Charlie’s interest. Her instincts and knowledge only made her hunt the walking dead more strategically. She knew her capabilities and those of her enemies. She knew all the knowledge of a pack without actually being a part of one. Her reason for living was finally sustained. She had a duty and although she had no village to protect, she had the human species to protect. Cleveland was her new home, the people that lived there, her new family. She would do anything to make sure they were protected. She had to save them from the shadows that lurked within the city.

♥ SOMEWHERE TO LOVE ♥
SOMEWHERE TO BREATHE
( • SOMEWHERE TO CALL MY SANCTUARY • )
She went on in reply. It was her that owed him everything. She hadn’t even thought about the context of his words. He was invading, on her bath, she was naked, vulnerable in the bath, she didn’t want him to see her like this. Her eyes glowed a light shade of pink, the embarrassment seeping through only an ounce. "Remember when you burst in on my bath just two years ago..." Delta shook her head, that was another time in her life she wished she could forget. Two years ago, she was a different person, a lot more independent and strong, two years ago, Scott Cobin was an untouchable god. He was a goal she wanted, but a prize she would never win. It was almost amusing, how her life had turned out. She had attained the unattainable, she had tamed the wild beast and he now wanted her. He was there, right beside her as she tried to kill herself. She wanted nothing more than to be rid of her life, he wanted nothing more than her to be a part of his. Delta sunk a little lower into the bath, reaching one hand up behind her hair and flattening the bubbles that adorned it. She had no response for him, yes she remembered, but no she didn’t feel like reliving it.
Delta sighed as she sank deeper into the warm suds of the bath. The scent rising as the bubbles engulfed the edges of her face. Her blonde hair floated along the surface of the water, golden waves moving with the stream. Her body relaxed, her mind went numb as she focused on the music that came from her iPod. The worries of the past hour started to drain from her mind as her muscles eased. She didn’t want to think about anything that had happened, she didn’t want it to be real, she just wanted to run away. There was something though, something that made her stay. Something cemented her there. She was disgusted in herself, the way she was, the way she acted now, the way she believed that it would never come back to haunt her. She had been so immature about everything, just hoping wasn’t enough. It would never leave her, the problems of her past would most definitely linger, more than likely till her death. Why was she still going over this, the whole idea of escaping to the bathroom was to forget about all of this. Scott had forgiven her, he made everything feel alright. Even though he did not agree with her past lifestyle, he still forgave her. To her, that was just as wrong. Him accepting it, just made everything seem alright and it wasn’t, nothing was right.
Delta stopped breathing and sunk herself deep below the bubbles. She needed to be isolated, completely alone. The music still penetrated the surface of the water as she floated below. The high pitched jump on the piano keys rang through the water like a chime in the wind. She wondered to herself, how much water would she need to breathe in before died? Of course, it wasn’t a possibility, it was only fire that could kill the immortal. She just wished at this very moment, she was human, she could breathe in the warm suds of the bath and die quietly. She had been embarrassed and humiliated enough today. The secrets she had shared, were not ones she liked to talk about. Telling the one man she loved more than anything in the world, just made it a tougher blow. Delta opened her mouth and started breathing under the water. Small bubbles of air scaped her lips and she watched as they danced up towards the surface, through the murky mist of the suds. It was almost hypnotising, watching the life escape from her. She could feel the water flowing through her body, into her lungs. How much would she need? Delta continued, taking in more breaths of water and watching the bubbles of air follow the path of the last. The water inside her increased, but she didn’t feel any weaker, she wasn’t dying.
She opened her eyes and looked up at the white bubbled canopy. As she did, they shook and moved with fierce tension. An earthquake? How strange. The thought didn’t worry Delta, but instantly her mind started to worry where he was. She didn’t want to be away from him, not if the earth was going to open up and eat them alive. Of course, the tremor wasn’t that significant, but in that moment, Delta realised just how much she needed him. He was her strength, he was what made her happy, he was her everything. Delta pushed herself back up, her head searching for the surface, her hair now covered in small delicate white bubbles. She looked around, wanting to rush out of the bath and run to his side. She waited though, the tremor seemed to have stop, everything was calm and peaceful again. Delta stretched her arms upwards, cracking her neck from side to side. She could still feel the dense water floating in her lungs. She wondered, was it possible for a vampire to down? She knew it was impossible, but she could always be the first? The thought fascinated her a bit and tantalized her curiosity for the faintest of minutes. Then she remembered how she felt when the earthquake roared, the longing, the need, the comfort she sought from him. She couldn’t leave him in this world.
It was then at that moment, she felt another tremor, wind blew in and the water around her shook. As it did however, a swarm of bright blue petals flew in on the wafts of air. They flew above her, dancing and parading around, crashing and falling, twirling and floating. Delta lifted her head and looked up above her as she watched. A smile resonated on her face. She knew who was behind this. It was the same person she had wanted to go cling to only moments ago. Her head snapped back down and looked straight towards the door, he had to be there, or somewhere? She wouldn’t put it past him to just walk in on her. Just then as she thought he had more dignity and respect, he came waltzing in through the door, his eyes turned and looking away as he found a spot on the floor across from the bath. Delta flurried and splashed around, trying to find enough bubbles to cover her chest. She did not need him seeing her naked, not after the embarrassment she had just suffered, she didn’t need another dose. The petals floated on the tops of the bubbles, making some of them vanish under the pressure. "I do believe I owe you an invasion of privacy..." he said with quite a charm to his voice. He wasn’t upset; he wasn’t disappointed, he seemed, almost happy.
“You don’t owe me anything....”
Delta looked at him, their eyes connecting for only a brief moment before she retracted and looked down at herself in the bath, shaking her head lightly. "I am your fiancé Delta, soon to be your husband...I don’t want you to run away anymore". She hadn’t run away, she hadn’t left him, she just needed some time alone. She just needed time to work through it on her own. It was hard for her to rely on another, her life had always been just her, alone, working out every problem, every situation, by herself. She didn’t know how to involve another in such a personal task. It seemed almost impossible to her. It wasn’t Scott, it had nothing to do with him, it had everything to do with allowing another into her life, into her twisted mind. No one needed to endure that. Scott wanted to though, he wanted to be a part of her as much as he wanted her to be a part of him. She had no choice but to let him in. She loved him after all.
Her head still lowered, she looked over towards Scott through a curtain of wet hair. She loved how he said the word husband, he sounded so sure. The term was foreign to Delta, not to say the way h said it. She never thought marriage would ever be a possibility for her, she never thought that one would want her for eternity. But here at the base of her bath sat the one man she wanted for eternity and he wanted her in return. It was something that couldn’t be questioned and when it was, it was always proven stronger than ever. Delta pushed her body over to the edge of the bath, her arms folding on the side, her head resting in their cradle. “.........” before she could open her mouth, Scott continued. "There is no need to run anymore...because I’m just going to follow you." Delta sat there with her mouth half open. She couldn’t say anything to respond to that. Sure, she would follow him anywhere as well. She would do anything to ensure their success, but she couldn’t promise that. He had run many a times before and as much as she had tried, Scott was just untraceable. He was a better tracker than her and would find her easily. It was easier for him to say, he could escape when he wanted with no repercussions, Delta could try to run and he would just follow.
Delta smiled a little. She needed to get over this complex, the man was committed to her 100 percent, it was shown in every word he had just spoken. He didn’t want anyone else but her, she had to stop torturing him, even if it was subconsciously on her part. Her smile rose as she winked at him. “I won’t run as long as you promise to stop disappearing”. She had to make the deal with him, if she was giving up something, making an effort to be with him, than he had to work for it as well. Delta lifted one hand and curled a finger towards her beckoning him to come over closer to the bath. She was more than covered in bubbles now so there was no way he would see anything. The piano music still chiming quietly in the background, Delta reached over to kiss him softly on the lips. As she did, hr hands scooped down into the water and picked up large amounts of water, throwing them high into the air and landing on Scott and the titled floor. Water, bubbles, petals and the wet warmth all cascaded down, enveloping them both in the steamy haze of the room. “I love you” She whispered lightly as she pulled herself away from his lips, only to find herself being drawn back to them just as quickly, no breath spared.
