It's 1998 and the war is over.
The Magical World is a mess. Though the Dark Lord's empire has fallen to pieces, the entire world is not left unchanged. The Ministry works slowly to put the pieces back together from what was broken over the past two years, and jobs are just beginning to reopen in the nearly-desolate Diagon Alley. Much of Hogwarts is in ruin, with several sections of the school still undergoing the repair. What was once a vibrant community is forever stained with tragedy and it will be years before the Wizarding World returns to normal.
To make matters worse, not everyone favours the grand plan to rebuild and prosper. Though their leader is gone, many Death Eaters and supporters still remain, and others still seek to shape the world in the image of their choosing. With no foundation yet cemented, it is up to the newest generation of adult witches and wizards to shape the future... for better or worse.
Pandemic is a brand new moderate-to-advanced Post-Potter roleplay. Our goal is simple: to be as welcoming and friendly as a community as possible while helping others grow and expand both in their writing skills as well as their interests. The staff are all experienced roleplayers eager to help new people fit into the community, and the roleplay is always interesting. We encourage and embrace original thinkers and believe that what makes a community worth being a part of is the members.
Pandemic is an adult-centric RPG. It is a time of change, as those with new ideas step up and work to mold Wizarding Britain to fit their vision of what it could, or should, be. This means that much of the focus is on those who have left their years at Hogwarts behind them (and on foreign graduates eager to make a mark), although there is still plenty to learn as a Hogwarts student!
We're unique. Some of what you can find at Pandemic is...
- Original adult characters: shop keepers, Ministry Workers, quidditch players, you name it and you can probably play it here! And you're not limited to just Hogwarts graduates, either. We've got a Durmstrang and Beauxbatons guide for people seeking to play foreign adults!
- Canons: Harry, Ron and Hermione are all grown up on Pandemic, and so are most of their classmates. We have a vast list of canons for RPers to choose from if you're interested in playing one!
- Time Warp: Ever wanted to play something from your character's past, but couldn't because it didn't fit in the current timeline? You can on Pandemic in a special board; just list where and when it takes place and have at it.
- The Daily Prophet: Put out on a monthly basis, Pandemic offers a fully interactive (and quite comical) Daily Prophet built by the administrative staff to be completely unique. Trust us; it's worth reading.
