SUMMER OF LOVE 2010

So I have been cruising the CAUTION 2.0 site for a little while an especially lately trying to find brand new ideas to bring back to our own site to make it more exciting and active. One thing I did notice was Caution and A Thousand Fireflies attempt to sstamp out cyber bullying, especially on RPG boards and their own.

Before I go into detail on how we can help as a site, I will show you what has been said on the caution forum so that you know what SOL is all about.

hi there, cautioners! it's come to the attention of the staff that bullying and just plain bitterness has become way too much of a trend when it comes to things both on caution and off. something we've decided needs to be very, very clear: bullying and plain nastiness is NOT going to be tolerated. this means if you are found to be bullying or harassing by any way affiliated with caution, you are going to be banned straight away. no second chances.

even small instances of this will result in severe consequences. so please, for each and every post and PM you write, think what you say through thoroughly before hitting that send button. anything here that is found to be a form of cyber harassment is going to be printed and stored away in case any threats made are taken further.

bullying and harassment can take many forms. if someone is badgering you, pestering you, or saying things that make you feel is a personal attack against you, please contact a member of the staff and it will be dealt with. we are here to help you. you, while here, want to feel comfortable. this makes our main goal making you, the caution member, feel comfortable. any staff member will be glad to hear out any complaints you have and do our best to make you feel comfortable while on caution.

if you feel that, in the past, you have been the one bullying or harassing someone else, now is the time to start fresh. think through everything you say to someone. remember that, no matter how much you feel you know someone, a computer screen in front of you does not make you invincible. it also does not make the person you are speaking to any less human. watch your words. be very careful of what you say. because if any on-caution harassment is happening and you are found to be taking part in it, you. will. be. banned. this issue is not something we're going to sugarcoat.

in order to support this mission against hatred, the staff of caution has teamed up with a thousand fireflies to make sure this policy of anti-harassment is a joint effort of the both of us. this campaign is something we're both going to be promoting heavily, so please take notice of this and realize every action of yours has consequences!

that being said, let's move on to something a little more positive, shall we? the caution staff has now planned out a sort of 'summer of love' theme for the summer that we desperately hope will continue on past the summer time and into the next however many years we're open. the challenge mods are hard at work slaving over some amazing new challenge ideas promoting love and anti-bullying. there will also be some awesome new buttons for you to decorate your signatures with promoting this mission of ours. please join in this caution against hate movement by posting any thoughts you have here, keeping a look out for caution staff's upcoming video featuring staffers talking about caution against hate, taking part in our upcoming challenges, decorating your signatures with new buttons, spreading positivity in your posts and, most importantly, making sure to try your best and spread this mission!

HOW CAN I HELP?

Ok so here at THE DISORIENTATEDwe are going to follow suit. I am sorry this is not a choice. This is something that is near and dear to my heart as I have been and sometimes still am on occasions, a victum of cyber bullying. I have been labeled a bad egg and a villian in the past and although I do not approve of some of my actions sometimes, I go out of my way to appolgise to those I have hurt. Some of them choose to accept and forgive, others have not. THIS is the main reason why TD was created. I wanted a place absent from hate and conflict, a place where all Twilight RPERS could come and feel like they were at home. If you wanted to cause trouble on TD Im sorry but this is the wrong place to do it.

We have been lucky to not have experienced so much drama in our humble abode, but I know I am not the only one that has been attacked, accused, or mistreated by someone online if on this site or another. We have most likely all felt the repercussions of cyber bullying. If we were at one stage the bullier, even if unintentionally or if we were the one being bullied, NOW is the time to take a stand. We are going to follow CAUTION 2.0 to the letter and as such I have devised a behaviour strategy for in which this site will run from. Any miss behaviour will be treated seriously and dealt with accordingly. I have been wanting to do this for a long time, to protect our site, but now I think it is time to set the ball in motion.

TD ANTI BULLYING
AND BEHAVIOUR POLICY

If you break any rule, you will be placed on a warning. These warnings serve as a reminder that you have done something that TD does not encourage. The warning will be doccumented in the staff area and a PM will be sent to the individual outlining the offence they have commited and why they are being warned. Each member (RPER NOT CHARACTER) will have a total of THREE (3) warnings. Basically three strikes and your outs.

You can reclaim your neautral status back however. For every offense you must commit to ONE (1) month of good behaviour. If you have three offenses, you will need to serve THREE (3) months of good behaviour in order to return to neautral status.

Hopefully these warnings wont occur because you all behave so properly and I am happy to say I have never had a problem with out members.

This policy is also going to be used for bullying. If you are bullied by a person on site, through a thread, post, cbox or PM please save a copy of the post (either through screenshot or just save the PM) and send it to an ADMIN. People who are found bullying will move straight to WARNING NUMBER 3. This means they are skating on very thing ice and any bad behaviour in cbox or on site they will be banned from site. This also goes for any off site behaviours. You are representing TD and if you are found to disgrace our name outside of these walls, the same action will apply. Of course you can regain your status by being on a good behaviour bond for 3 months and thats fine. We all make mistakes and do things we wish we didn't.

HOW CAN I
DISPLAY MY LOVE?

Its really quite simple. I know these buttons don't apply to the TD graphic rules, but for this cause I am going to make an exception. Below are a series of buttons that you can use to display your commitment to the cause. Either on site, on caution or on any other site you may use these buttons on any or all of your accounts. These buttons were made by a variety of different members on site so it would be nice to go HERE and show your appreciation to those who took their time out to help with the cause.
