~ about me :
Jaci can be described as persistent, ambitious and a true leader. She loves structure and order and making sure everyone is in their place and knows & does the job they need to do. She doesn't care for slackers or people who don't know how to play for a team. Jaci is a skilled fighter and will stop at nothing to keep her people safe from vampires. Jaci is strict but she is also motherly. She never had children of her own but caring for her pack and the people she protects is how her motherly instincts come out. She has no plan of children... that is nothing but a dream and fantasy that can never be. Her role and job is too important for her to indulge in such things. Jaci is a very grateful person. She is loves the jungle with all her heart. She respects it, the animals, the jaguar and the higher power very much. She is always giving thanks for all that she has and all that she accomplishes.

~ history :
Jaci was born in the country of Brazil, in a small rural village in the Amazon jungle. Her father was Heriberto Alquera and her mother was Paloma Dimas Alquera. Her father was the second jaguar shifter and alpha. Her inherited this power from his mother Vanessa Alquera who had made a pact with the Jaguar, that if it lent her its form she would protect her family and the village from the vampires who were terrorizing them. After that, the children (Heriberto & Macario) she had with her human husband Luiz and their grandchildren (Horacio, Gabriella, Simao & Jaci), inherited this gift.
Jaci grew up as a child, full of energy, ambition and intrigue for the jungle. She was a clever girl and understood the jungle very well from a young age. Jaci had an older brother - Simao. He was 5 years older than her. He shifted when he was 16. He was the only shifter for a time. Simao drowned when he was 20. There was huge, violent rain storm. Jaci had fallen into the raging river and Simao went in after her. He got pushed under when a tree collapsed on him and he was able to save himself. Jaci owes her brother her life. She misses him and feels guilty about his loss. Jaci was 15 at the time of this incident and shortly after she went through the shift. Several others in the village shifted as well, along with her two cousins Gabriella and Horacio. Jaci was named Alpha of the pack at this time. Her cousins later moved away from the village they call home. She hasn't seen them since and is unsure of their whereabouts or status.
Jaci led different small sized packs on and off since she was 15. During times when vampires moved into the territory a few people would shift, or other shifters from surrounding areas would join her for a time. Jaci knows vampires are once again among them. She can feel their presence. She is trying to gather the shifters to create her biggest pack yet, in order to ensure the safety of the jungle and people that call it home.
When Jaci was younger, her grandmother on her mother's side - Necita Dimas Alquera had dementia. She was old, fragile human and wandered out into the jungle alone. It was there that her grandmother met her unfortunate fate when a vampire killed her. Jaci was hurt and outraged by the attack and killing of her beloved grandmother. The moment she found out she shifted and ran after the scent. She never found the vampire, but she still remembers its smell. If it ever came back she will kill it so fast, it won't know what hit it. This need for revenge is a lot of the driving force behind what she does, and why she is so dedicated to her role as shifter and alpha.
~ role play sample :
Jaci was on patrol duty tonight. She was still in her human form. As much as she loved running at a jaguar, she didn’t like taking the form for granted. Her ability to shift, was a gift from the jaguar to protect. She didn’t ever want to abuse it and only took form with great care and respect. Jaci was sitting on a rock that over looked a pond and rushing waterfall. The last of the sun rays were spotting down on her from the breaks in the canopy above her. The jungle was alive with creatures of all sorts. This was the in-between time, when the day animals were getting ready for sleep, and when the night creatures were starting to stir from their beds.
Jaci ran through the jungle barefoot, racing herself up a mountain to look over the landscape. When she reached top, she stood there, arms at her hips, just staring off into the horizon. The sky was turning a vibrant shade of purple with some pink streaking here and there. She watched as the silhouettes of birds flew across the sky, she could hear the mothers cawing to their young to keep up. When the sun got even lower in the sky she could hear the growling of a real jaguar off in the distance. A smile stretched across her face. That was a sound she very much loved.
As the sun was making its way into its hollow for the night, Jaci was down on her knees. She was a very religious type of woman and always started her patrol with a prayer of thanks for all the nights so far that she has been able to protect the jungle and the people from devil spawns – more often called ‘vampires’. Now that the sun had left so the stars and moon could play in the night sky, she knew it was time to shift. Jaci knew, no humans were around and so she did so freely. She began to trot through her favorite paths of the jungle, keeping a steady pace as she scoured her beloved land for any signs of danger.
A few hours into the night Jaci heard a sound, it made her ears twist back and forth as they zoned in on it, her head cocked as she tried to understand and her nose sniffed the night air as it tried to pick up a whiff of anything out of the ordinary. Jaci began to move towards the sound, her belly dragging closer to the damp earth of the jungle floor as her body tensed, ready to pounce. When she reached the sound it was just some empty tin cans tied around a tree. Some children must have been playing here earlier in the day. Jaci ripped it off and kept it in her mouth. She would find a place to properly dispose of what didn’t belong in the jungle.
She continued on her path, alone in the dense jungle. Jaci had always wanted a family, she yearned to be a mother and to watch her children grow. When she shifted, that plan had taken a back seat. Her role as alpha was now her task and any distraction would just be a distraction. She was used to be alone, in this way… without family and without a lover, but it was a sacrifice she had already decided to make.
When the sun finally rose, she shifted back into human form. She wasn’t far from her house, secluded from others by a long stretch of jungle and so she ran unseen. Jaci tossed out the trash and concluded her routine with another prayer to give thanks for her night of keeping her home safe once more.
