~ about me :Tawa is very reluctant to do most things at the moment especially if it has anything to do with shifting. She doesn't want to have any of it but only does it as she knows it's the only way she'll gain control. Tawa really just wants her life back before she was a shifter as things had been hard enough for her just being a teenager with the first flickers of love coming into her life and with school too. Now she has to wrestle with a beast inside her which doesn't make her life any easier. She is disgusted at the thought of what her shifter side in capable of and despises some of the acts the pack has done in there past, but she still loves them for she knows it wasn't always them in control. She is also very unsure of herself and is unwilling to push herself to do new things within her shifter form despite Jaci's and the rest of the packs constant encouragement.

~ history :
Tawa Benita Berto was born to her parents on the warm summers day of the ninth July some time in the nineties. She was an only child and so had to entertain herself as a child when he parents where too busy to play with her. So to amuse herself she would grab some pens and paper and doddle little pictures on them. At first they where just baby scribbles that your parents stuck on the fridge no matter how bad they was. Though as she got old her drawing talents developed rapidly making her quite the artist when she wanted to be that is. Though when she was five her parents got her a little cat who she loved so much as a kitty. She called it perry as that was her favourite word at the time. She would sit all day on the sofa just stroking her little cat and play with him when he wanted to play.
Though when she was ten Perry came in the cat flap with a dead bird and dropped it on the floor in front of her. The bird was the next door neighbour who Tawa would feed when she went round so she knew it quite well. Tawa was rather horrified and scarred by what her cat had done and screamed for her mother to take him away. After that she didn't want anything to do with her cat as it had killed and Tawa hated it for it. Eventually Perry wondered off one day and never came back so Tawa never knew what became of her once furry little friend. When Tawa final came to the age that she was able to go to high school she did make friend just not quite as quickly as other as she was a first a little reluctant to talk to them, though she eventually found a small circle of friends where she fit in. One of them she eventually became a bit more than friendly with and when they got into there junior year they began to date.
Though the pair only got one date out of there short romantic relationship. They had just nicely finished watching a movie in the cinema and was going to go get something to eat when he took her down an alleyway telling her it was a short cut. Tawa believe him and followed him only to find it was so he could make a move on her and try and advance there relationship quicker. He stopped her by say he had to ask her something important then one he had her face him he tried to kiss her. Tawa stopped him by slapping him but this made him back her to the wall where her tired again. She slapped him once more so he hit her back which had been a mistake on his part as hitting Tawa causes her anger to rise making her shift for the first time into a giant black jaguar. This scared him and he ran off leaving her alone and confused in the alleyway.
Tawa would have ran off down the street if it hadn't been for the fact she was now a whooping great jaguar. If she took of down the street she was sure she would be hunted down by animal control and lock up somewhere so she scrambled into a dumpster. When she woke she wasn't in the dumpster but somebodies home, somebody she didn't know. They had changed her clothes and left her under a blanket. When they came in they picked up the phone and called a women called Jaci. The house she was in was one of the pack members who was to join after the women named Jaci arrived it was then she was explained what had happen and what she was. Tawa hadn't want to believe it at first and ran out of the house but all she had done was got herself into an emotional state again which triggered another shift.
Jaci and the other shifter followed her and told her how closely tied emotions where to there shifter side. They told her about the pack and how they could help her control her shifter side. Tawa only agreed to join the pack so that she wouldn't have to worry about this beast inside of her. So she went back to there house and Jaci took her home only after she made her promise to tell nobody about shifters and the pack. Tawa promised as she didn't want this beast to cause her anymore trouble than it aready had. So now she is learning to control her beast with the help of the pack while trying to surive school now without her friends whilst lying to her parents about where she kept disapearing to. She had also taken a vow not to get involved with anybody else until she had her beast tamed as then she wouldn't end up nearly hurting anyone else.

Why had she been chosen to become this beast? A thought the quite often came to the surface of Tawa's mind. Most people would think it would be extremely cool to be able to turn into a giant cat and roam around the forest. Well Tawa was one of the few people who thought otherwise. She had thought teenage life to be difficult enough without having to keep the beast inside of her happy too. It was just typical for something like this to happen to her. So now she was having to learn to vent her anger as that was one of the major triggering points of the shift. She had been told emotions where often what causes the first shifts to happen and they hadn't been kidding. When she had herd some of the stories from the other of how close the ties of the emotions where with shifting she felt disgusted with some of the pack members though understood that what they did wasn't truly there own fault but the beast inside of them all.
Though most of the pack members where friendly and helping teaching her the ways of the shifter she found Jaci was the most helpful. The women treated her as if she was her own child and always told her she was very talented in her shifter form. Tawa was grateful to Jaci for doing this but also think she does it as she is the pack alpha and has to set and example for the others. She is always pushing Tawa to do more things and have confidence in herself to be able to control the animal. But Tawa is very reluctant to believe her and prefers to stick to her human form rather than that of the Jaguar. If she could Tawa would happily take any cure that might stop her from shifting or block of her shifter form entirely. Like Rogue she doesn't want her powers and just wants to be normal, but unlike Rogue there is no cure for a shifter. To be able to stop shifting she first had to be able to control her shifting.
Tawa would much rather try going cold turkey and just try not to get too emotional. But other in the pack had managed to convince her it was a bad idea as if she didn't have control over her beast it could strike out without warning and something could go very wrong indeed. And she didn't like the sound of death any better than being a shifter so she was going to have to learn to control it if she wanted others to be safe. She didn't want anything to happen like it had when she first shifted. She was dating a local boy and at first things where fine. But he was pushing her to do things which made her snap and triggered the beast inside her. For this Tawa will be forever embarrassed as she might not have ever discovered her shifter side if she had better control over her emotions. Since that had happen Tawa has been too scared to date anyone else as she doesn't want the event to occur again.
