FULLHISTORY:
Vallari was born to Sameera and Amir Depti on Oct. 26, 1545 in Calicut, India her life already determined by her status. Her parents were servants in the house hold of Sha Jubar Raja of Calicut making them luckier than most as he was a kind master and allowed his servants many liberties others did not. During the same year of her birth Jubar had a daughter as well called Soraya who he gave to Sameera to feed becoming her wet-nurse and care giver. The two girls fed from her mother until they no longer needed milk and were old enough to walk and talk. Vallari’s childhood was one of great luxury as the palace had no other children and the two girls were doted on and she was the constant companion of the young princess. From the time they were two there were classes to attend where they learned the history of the Mughal, classic Indian dance and what it took to be a good wife. Vallari enjoyed these classes as she almost always surpassed Soraya in every subject and her intellect never went unnoticed. Still there were many things she had to do that Soraya did not like, clean, serve dinner and wait on the princess hand and foot. She knew it was her place, and she knew the order of things but the older they became the more she started to question her way of life. Val believed she deserved more than this meager existence and when she would complain to her parents they would only say, “Our cast was predetermined be happy with what you are, seeking more will only bring you pain.”
There words went in one ear and out the other, she knew she was just as worthy as the ones she served and saw no reason to deny herself. Still she did not disobey orders and to most she would have seemed like a great servant but underneath that ruse was a woman waiting for her chance to become much more. Val and Soraya were almost like sisters they confided in one another and although anyone could see the love between them in time it would all turn to hate. Val envied her life, she wanted to be a princess, she wanted the fine clothes and jewelry that came with that title along with the respect. When people looked at her it was as if they didn’t see her and for Val that was a fate worse than death, to be nonexistent in life. Val started to blossom into a beautiful young woman earning looks from all those who saw her face and that became yet another completion between she and Soraya. The princess was well aware of the rivalry going on between them they competed in everything and she had to wonder why did she feel envious of a slave, was she not supposed to envy her? Soraya went out of her way to make Val’s life hell, she knew her better than anyone and with that knowledge she knew just what to do to set her off. When Val would come to her room at night to change her sheets and light her fire, she would complain about any and everything. It would at one moment be too hot so that Val would have to put the fire out then it would be too cold and she’d have to light it again. She’d complaint that the sheets felt weird and demand new sheets, she’d discard old clothing and make a chore of showing how bad the quality was before dropping them at Val’s feet saying, “They are beneath me just like you, so you wear them.”
It was enough to make Vallari want to pull her hair out yet she never betrayed her anger only smiled sweetly asking, “Anything else highness?” She prayed to Krishna for the day when she would have the chance to make Soraya feel the same way she had her whole life and it seemed her God was listening. When Val was fifteen a nobleman came to the palace with an entire entourage asking to see the Raja under important official mattes. She had no idea what could be going on but he would soon see how this one moment would change her life. The Raja greeted him with a smile and they went into his grand room staying in there until dinner then reemerging to feast with the house. During the dinner Jubar announced the coming marriage of his daughter Soraya to Emperor Akbar ruler of all India. Val almost dropped the pitcher of wine in her hands at those words, Soraya was to be an Empress and she would always be nothing more than her servant. For the nest week the palace was in an uproar getting Soraya ready for her journey to Delhi, arranging her new household and coming up with a proper dowry. During this time the princess was more unbearable than ever but Val endured it knowing that she would soon be free of Soraya and then maybe a little happiness would be hers.
The celebrations went on as planned and Val did her best to remain nice to Soraya counting the days until she would be gone. Two days before her departure she walked back to the servant quarters to see her mother packing her things and crying the entire time. “Mother what is it?” she asked taking her mother’s hand and guiding her to the cot. “Lord Jubar would like for you to accompany Soraya to Delhi he thinks it would be a good chance for you.” She smiled as she said those words but tears still stained her eyes. Val began to cry as well, any other time this would have been wonderful news but knowing she would be part of Soraya’s household soured the good news. She never told anyone of her hatred for the princess and she wasn’t about to start now so she held it in and smiled, “Oh mother but that’s great news.” They held onto one another and cried for a long time she knew she would miss the presence of her mother more than anything else but all birds must one day leave the nest. The next day she was up at dawn along with six other women preparing Soraya for her wedding a ceremony that would take half of the day. She bathed Soraya until she was pristine and then the women went to work on her drawing henna all over her body starting at her toes and stopping at her hands. It was Val’s job to adorn the jewels and when she saw them her eyes almost watered, they were beautiful and she wished it were her instead. That thought left her mind as quickly as it entered and she went back to the room to finish preparing the future empress.
Once Soraya was dressed she left her for the kitchen, the entire staff was preparing a fourteen curse meal for the wedding and they needed every had they could find. Goats, were brought in to be slaughtered as well as chickens, fresh fruits was picked and wine was brought from the north ensuring that this would be the wedding to remember. By the afternoon everything was ready and they all stood at the door awaiting the arrival of the Emperor Akbar. He came on a grand elephant with about a hundred people trailing behind him some in litters other walking; he looked like a hero coming home. Val was taken aback by how handsome he was and when he kneeled before Soraya it was enough to make her throw up. He took her hand and she led him to the yard where the wedding was to take place, but it no longer looked like the yard she’d know in her childhood it was a sea of red and gold tents set up for all the guest. They filed in through the doors like and army taking more space than they were prepared for but the ceremony was beautiful and as much as she hated to admit it Soraya made a beautiful bride. Val had the honor of serving the emperor and his guest, all of them looked at her with lust in their eyes as she passed but she only had eyes for Akbar and his stayed on her the rest of the night.
The journey to Delhi took about four days and Val used this time to observe the Emperor, watching him interact with his men and with Soraya. He was always attentive, always joyous and laughing he kind of reminded her of Soraya’s father. It wasn’t until they arrived at his palace that she saw another side to him something she would one day be able to use to her advantage. Their new home was beautiful and Soraya’s rooms were more lavish than she had ever dreamed it seemed he’d made many changed for her arrival. “Isn’t it wonderful Val.” She said to her smiling at her they way they did when they were girls who still loved each other. There was still a part of her that she loved but Val now loved herself more than anyone else and she knew neither one of them could be truly happy as long as the other was around. Many things seemed to change for Soraya in that first month but nothing changed for Val, she was still a servant, still sleeping on the floor, still invisible to those who passed her. Yet in this life she was more separate from Soraya than she’d ever been, she was always working making this cooking that she almost had no time to form a plan. Still she bided her time waiting for an opportunity to present itself and when it did she would pounce like the hungry lioness she was.
One day she was in the Empress’ rooms putting away the new saris Akbar’s father had left for her before they journeyed to the palace gardens. They were so beautiful she just had to try one on and she did marveling at her refection in the mirror, she danced around the room imaging it was hers and that she was the Empress. She was so wrapped up in her dream that she didn’t hear the door open but as she turned she came face to face with the Emperor. Val dropped to her knees in front on him her eyes too afraid to look up and meet his, she knew there would be trouble for this. She felt his hand on her chin and he signaled her to rise his eyes never leaving hers as she did, “That green suits you perhaps I will give you your own in that color.” He said walking around her as if she were the prey and he a vulcher. “Your majesty is too kind.” She said lowering her eyes afraid to look at him. “You were at my wedding were you not.” He said touching her gently and then letting his hands fall. “Yes.” She said looking at him finally and again seeing the same lust now that she’d seen that day. “Yes I remember you looked beautiful then even in servants clothing and now that you wear your mistress’ clothes you outshine them all.” She smiled at that comment giving into her own vanity for a moment but not too long. Was this a trick was he going to spare her or punish her? “You know what I think?” he said stopping in front of her, “That you would look even more beautiful without them. Take that off.” Val hesitated at this, she was brave there was no question of that but this was getting close to treason.
Akbar looked at her again narrowing his eyes and she knew if she didn’t obey he would only force her and that would be worse than if she complied. So she stood there in front of him and unwrapped the sari until she was there naked waiting on him to make a move. He pointed to the bed and she went lying on her back looking up at the satin and silk canopy for the first time feeling the comfort of a bed. She didn’t look at him, she didn’t move she just sat there as she heard his clothes drop to the floor, felt his body on hers and then felt a pain that let her know he was inside her moving and having like a man in heat. She made no sounds just held onto the sheets letting him kiss all over her; pull her hair and then letting his head rest on her chest as she collapsed in exhaustion. He kissed her lips, “You are now my greatest treasure.” He caressed her face one last time before putting back on his robe and leaving the room. She looked down at the sheets and saw the blood sighed and then got up pulling them off with her hoping no one would ask about the blood. She put back on her clothes and took them down to the laundry and idea finally coming to her….revenge would be sweet.
Over the next few years she used her new found favoritism to her advantage, gaining, clothes, jewels, and even her own room all to the dismay of Soraya. She was still without children and the Emperor was starting to believe she was infertile so he was planning on taking a second wife one who would do what she would not and Val wanted to be that woman. She spent all her time with him and started to know him better than she knew herself, doing everything a wife should do and more making sure she was the center of his world. He took her to all major events while Soraya stayed in her litter acting as if she was too good to dace and smoke with her husband but Val knew how to play him. It wasn’t long before Akbar awarded her with the title of “Shining Star of Delhi,” something that made her smile wile Soraya grew more and more depressed. Her plan was coming full circle yet there was one more things he needed before she could make her move and that was a pregnancy. Val slept with Akbar more than three times a week and she knew in time a baby would come proving that it was Soraya not Akbar who had the problem only then could she be rid of her. In the month of July her bleeding ceased to come and she smiled broader than she had in a long time confiding in no one knowing that she had only herself. It wasn’t until after her twentieth birthday that she went to Akbar and told him the news when they were alone in his room spent from a passionate session. “Akbar I am with child.” She said to him smiling the way only an expecting mother can, “Are you sure?” he asked his hand going to her stomach that had only just started to protrude. “Yes it’s been four months and I can feel the life in me. We shall have a son.” He held her tightly in his arms and she could feel that happiness radiating from him, “Vallari you are the best thing that has come out of my marriage. I love you.” She smiled those were the words she’d been waiting to hear, she had him and now there was nothing she couldn’t do.
Akbar decided it was best if no one knew about the baby until he was born so he arranged for them to go on a trip to the coast, he thought the sea air would be good for the baby. They left the same week she told him leaving his wife at the palace and the two of them enjoying each other’s company for the next five months. Val was out on the deck of the house he’d given her when she felt a pain far worse than anything she could have dreamed. She looked down and saw liquid coming from her legs and let out a rippling scream, servants were at her side at once. They took her to the room and Akbar never left her side as she pushed and pushed until their son was born just before the dawning of a new day. He sent messages throughout the land announcing the birth of his son Rahim Prince of India. He looked so proud and kissed her gently as she lay in the best resting and then the moment she had been waiting for happened, “Is there anything you want, you know I won’t deny you.” She smiled and held his hand, “I want Soraya’s head on a platter.” His smile dropped and for a moment he looked at her life he didn’t know who she was and in reality he didn’t the woman he loved was not Val it was just an illusion she made to get what she wanted. It seemed he was thinking and then he squeezed her hand, “I will have it delivered to you when we return to Delhi.”
This was what she had been waiting for and she didn’t her best to get well so that they could return all the faster and she could claim her prize. They returned to Delhi after another week her son nestled safe in her arms and the entire city was there to meet them including Soraya. “Your highness.” She said bowing to him before standing again and looking at her with hate in her eyes. She saw her son and Val could have sworn she heard her heart break knowing that she had done the one things he’d failed to do all this time. Akbar looked at her and smiled, “But you haven’t addressed by Empress.” He put his had out for Val to take and she did yet none else moved all of them watching what had just happened. Akbar looked around at them all and within seconds they were all on the ground bowing before her Val’s dream had finally come true she was visible. “Guards take her away.” He nodded to her and Soraya was dragged from the room screaming and shouting Val had never seen anything more marvelous in her life. Soraya’s execution was scheduled for later that night but Val just had to see her one last time before she died.
The prisons were dark and smelled of rotting men and women yet she stood tall when she saw Soraya chained to the wall no clothing, not jewels, not title now her servant. “What do you want.” She said to her with venom in her tone the hate only made Val smile. “I just came to say goodbye to make sure you see all I have taken from you before you leave this life.” She stood in front of her a triumphant smile on her face. “If you expect me to beg for your mercy I won’t I’m real royalty and that’s something you can’t sleep you way to you’re either born with it or not.” Even at deaths door she couldn’t let Val have the last word she still felt that she was superior. “You brought this on yourself, you and all the cruelty you inflicted on me when for the longest time I loved you like a sister!” she shouted at her tears brimming her eyes. “Now you’ll die as nothing more than a memory to me and I’ll be the last thing you see.” She turned her back on the woman who’d been part of her life as long as she could remember happy that she was finally free. Later that night she lay in the bed Rahim in his crib beside her bed sleeping peacefully as only babies can when there was a knock on her door. She bid them come in and saw a silver platter covered by a matching top, “Your majesty.” The man kneeled before her and uncovered the dish revealing Soraya’s head her hair coving the blood stained neck. “Did she scream?” she asked looking at it a smiled forming on her face. “No, it was a swift clean cut hardly any pain.” He said looking a little disturbed by her smile. “Nice. You may go.” She waved her hand and dismissed him happy to know there was no one that could challenge her now.
The change from servant to Empress was easy for Val and she loved the way Akbar doted on her, giving into her every desire. Many people started to believe she was a Devi and had put a spell on the Emperor but the only thing she’d done to him was make him love her. He was so kind to her in these last years that she was finding it hard to hate him as she had for so long but when she made up her mind about someone that was the way it stayed. Life had settled into a boring routine they would rise and have breakfast together, he’d go take care of political affairs while she walked the garden or dread books. He brought her the finest instructors knowing her thirst for knowledge yet she was starting to want more. How could she not? Still she felt she needed company someone other than her husband and she found that companion one day during an audience with her former owner Sha Jubar. There was a woman among them, she stood out and it seemed she wasn’t the only one to notice her husband looked at her in wonder. The men wanted to discuss business so they were released and went to take a stroll in the garden, the stranger remained silent. As the other women walked ahead of her, she stayed behind taking a seat by the lake thinking about her life and how far she’d climbed. Before she knew it the woman was by her side looking at her as if she were a wonder not the other way around. She wore a veil over her face but even that couldn’t hide her beauty.
“You look lost Empress.” She said looking in her eyes Val felt naked like she could really see her for what she was. “Aren’t we all, none of us really know our paths until we’re on it.” The woman nodded obviously agreeing with her words. “I can see it in your eyes that you are searching for something, but what could that be?” this woman was intriguing and their conversation continued that way the rest of the day. She learned her name was Anahi, she was from Delhi but lived in Calicut as the Queen’s seamstress. The two of them talked and laughed all night and for the first time in ears she thought she had a friend. They dined together during the feast for that night and when the time came for her to leave Val asked her to stay, “Of what service cold I be to you?” she asked acting as if she didn’t deserve the honor. “I still have no seamstress and it would be nice to have some new clothing besides I like you.” Val smiled at her and it was a done deal after that. The two women spent their days together when Akbar was away, there was a war waging in the south and he wanted to put it down before it got uncontrollable. It had been two season since Akbar left for the war leaving her as his regent and with this new title there was so much more to do but Rahim and Anahi made the days much more enjoyable. Her son was now one and walking, it seemed the country might have peace, and she was the Empress could life get any better?
In the midst of all this happiness her mother’s words run in her ear, “When you seek more than you were given misery follows.” She let the words leave her mind and focused on the task at hand making sure her son would be next in line to the throne. She sat in Akbar’s study looking over new papers that never seemed to go away when Anahi entered the room blood stains around her mouth. “What’s happened?” she asked jumping up and running to her friend, “Where is Rahim? Are you alright?” Anahi looked at her and for the first time she saw redness there something that scared her enough to make her jump back. “Oh your son is with Krishna now as you too will be soon.” She said moving faster than she could see and throwing her against the wall. Anahi put her hands around Val’s neck cutting off her oxygen and she clawed at her hands trying to get away from her, “Why?” was the only question she could manage to get out. She was tossed to the ground glad that she could breathe again, “You were the cause of my mistress’ death and now I will be the cause of yours. It was her dying wish.” Anahi said nothing else before lunging at her and then she yelled for help as a fire ran though her that she tough would surely case her to die. She screamed until she couldn’t and then everything when in and out the guards came, she was dropped to the floors, she heard swords hitting something and then there was nothing only darkness.
Val awoke after what seemed like minutes in darkness felt around and discovered that she was in a crypt, a crypt! She wanted to scream but nothing came out of her mouth all she felt was a burning sensation in the back of her throat and a grumble in her tummy. She reached her arms up and removed the marble lib that would have kept her sheathed in darkness. Val attacked the first persons he saw not even knowing what she was doing it was like her body had a mind of its own and she was powerless to stop. When his body stop struggling and she was sure he was dead she continued walking seeing that it was night time, how much time had passed. She passed a man in the street playing the sitar hoping someone would leave him a tip when he saw her he screamed and bowed his head. “Your majesty why is your ghost haunting me, I have done no wrong.” He said his head still on the ground and Val becoming more confused by the minute. “I am no ghost as you can see I’m very much alive.” He looked up and shook his head, “Your majesty was murdered three days ago along with your son, the Emperor is grief stricken.” His words were more than enough to knock her odd her feet and she was on the ground next to him. “You mean I’m dead, really dead.” He nodded his head and she wanted to cry but she wouldn’t not now, not ever. “Who did it?” she asked, “The Empress’ seamstress she was killed that night so your death was atoned for.” She nodded her head and took off the ring on her finger giving it to the man, “Thank you.”
She walked for days until she was good and lost no longer in India but not sure really where she was. Val fed when she needed to leaving a trail of death wherever she went and soon enough she knew it would catch up to her but now she had nothing to lose. It took her years but in time she came to see that this wasn’t a curse but the chance for a different life and she had all the power she ever wanted. One power in particular she was having a hard time managing she could control, every time she touched someone she wouldn’t kill them before she could get anything out of them it was like her touch was poison. Val had no idea what she was and it seemed no one was round to ask and anytime she tried to talk to someone she ended up killing them it was just plain annoying and no matter how hard she tried to control it she couldn’t stop. Still she was determined to find someone like her someone who could tell her what she was and how to control this power she seemed to have. Her travels took her all over to Germany, France, Rome and then finally Volterra a place she heard was home to her kind. No one in particular told her this but the city had a vampire legend and the more she looked into the more she thought someone there would be able to help her so it was there she went.
Clothed in black she made it to the city but nothing seemed abnormal here, everything was just like it had been in other countries boring. For the first week she thought she may have made a mistake but when she was walking about the streets she smelled something so distinct it made her stop and stare. There was a woman leading a group of humans somewhere her purple eyes looking at them the same way she looked at humans which could only mean dinner time. Val made herself part of the group and followed them into a place that was almost as beautiful as the palace she’d died in. She showed them this and that but soon they were taken to a room and there that’s when she saw three men sitting on thrones looking like little kings. The doors closed behind them and the next things you knew the people in the room were all out of their seats feeding on the humans one of them jumped at her but she flung them off with ease. Soon the screams stopped and the people stood up their blood stained lips and red eyes making her think of Anahi the one who’d made her this way. Their red eyes turned on her and she could feel them all closing in, she looked around but felt no fear, what more was there to fear…death? “Who are you.” A man with long black hair said stepping over a body to get to her. “I am Vallari.” She said looking at him. He put his hand on her and she could see everything he’d ever though al his secrets and feelings it was as if she’d know him all her life.
The man smiled at her, “Well well well you are glorius, you must stay Val.” She looked around at them all knowing them each by name since she now had all Aro’s memories. “We can help you control your gift and there is much to be gained, come on join us.” She nodded her head she knew all about them now. Val knew how they started what they stood for and knew that she wanted to be part of this coven they could help and perhaps there would be much more in store for her than she ever imagined.

RPSAMPLE: Merek studied his new specimen as she looked at him the hate evident in her eyes he could tell that she was far more than what she appeared. He’d heard stories of beasts that romanced this side of the US and many other parts of the world but her smell was distinct. He could only smile in delight as she spoke to him the way an annoyed teen would do their younger sibling yet he was the elder in this situation. She had given herself away by addressing him like a vampire had she played it off as if she didn’t know what he was maybe her lie would have been more convincing. ‘Don’t play coy with me young one I know how humans smell and taste.” He said smirking and then licking his lips remembering the man he’d had last night. The thought of blood was enough to make him tune in to hers; the way it pumped through her body the sound of her heart loud and strong. He took a step back giving her more space than she needed but if she tried to run he would catch her effortlessly. “Now it would be best for you to star being truthful if you plan on living past this moment.’ He dropped his smile just to show her he was serious Merek didn’t make idle threats and he wouldn’t say it again.
She had a smart mouth and from the tone of her voice he could tell she was American, they always had a smart reply to anything that was said. The wind picked up and he could feel the pressure of its forced as it went by them both making her stench even more intolerable. With the wind there were other scents some that smelled almost like the one before him and hen he had to wonder were there others out there? If there were he wasn’t afraid a vampire has no fear not even that of his own death Merek was no exception he only hoped to take a few with him before he left this earth. As they stood there staring one another down with hate in their eyes he thought back to his home and calculated how far away from there he was. If something did go wrong on his venture today he just wanted to make sure he left nothing that would lead this beast back to Sofi and the children. Everything he does he now does for them and in some small parts his own satisfaction which he only took care f when the moment presented its self. “Since you seem to lie when it matter how about you tell me something of no significance like your name.” There was nothing that he could do with her name except maybe find out where she lived but he could easily just follow her scent. Merek loved a good hunt and he could see that this girl had a fighting spirit something he loved in his victims, it was funt o watch that fight leave their eyes when they accepted the inevitable…death.
He was the bringer of death and played the part of both judge and jury, once he put it in his mind you would die there was nothing anyone could do to save you. Sure he didn’t really need to kill this girl but she was bring quite rude for their first meeting and it didn’t seem like she would tell him anything he wanted to know without good reason. Merek could think of a reason and for her sake he hoped she believed his next words or the consequences may reach farther than her own life. “Now I’m not asking you for much only your clarification on your species and then maybe you can walk out of here the same way you came.’ He said regaining his cocky smirk and walking closer to her again. “But if you don’t work with me perhaps I can pay a visit to your friends and family, maybe they can answer this question.” He smiled knowing that it would get to any human because they were still so in touch with their emotions in a way vampires never could be. “I can be at your parents’ home before the end of the night and call you wile the life drains from their bodies. Would you like that? Or would you like to just tell me what I want to know?”
